GIMPA Takoradi campus admits 21 fresh students

Mr Julius Atikpui, Secretary of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), has tasked students of the Institute to follow laid down procedures when it comes to addressing their grievances.

He said the students’ handbook contains all information that would make their lives comfortable in school.

Mr Atikpui said this during the 2018/2019 academic year matriculation of the Takoradi campus in Takoradi.

In all 21 freshmen were matriculated this being the third batch of 1,144 newly admitted students to the Institute to pursue various first degree programmes such as Business Administration, Operation and supply chain management.

Mr Atikpui urged them to study the students handbook diligently to enable them observe the rules and regulations of the Institute adding that ignorance of the law is not an excuse.

The secretary asked them to organize themselves well, manage their time well and focus on their studies.

He said the Institute would provide the needed conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.

Mr Isaac Obeng, SRC President, urged the freshmen not to lose sight of what they seek to gain from the new academic path adding that they should keep focus, encourage themselves and fight on.

He said GIMPA is a leading prestigious University noted for its performance in moulding outstanding graduates who become game changers in any sphere of the fields of management and general administrative roles.

Mr Obeng said GIMPA is fortunate to have committed lecturers who concern themselves with giving students unmatched learning experience and practical exposure that enhances memory retention for application in the working environment.

Mr Prince Eti Azumah, on behalf of the freshmen, pledged their preparedness to learn and urged the school authorities to create the needed environment for academic work to thrive.

He appealed the campus be provided with a well stock library for research and academic use, modest sporting facility and enhanced teaching and learning facility such as a computer lab.

Mr Holy Kportorgbi, Campus Manager, who read the opening statement, said students enrolling in the University are expected to take the matriculation oath and sign the Matricula and be admitted by the Rector of the Institute.
