Accra, May 4, GNA - The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) is to mount a one-year full time top-up programme for Higher National Diploma (HND) holders to enable them to be awarded Bachelors Degrees in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting and Hospitality Management.

Professor Stephen Adei, Rector of Greenhill College, who announced this on Wednesday said the programme, would commence once the National Accreditation Board gave its approval.

"We think that is the least that we can do to our able HND and analogous diploma holders who are sometimes humiliated by being asked to restart with SSS holders when they want to pursue degree programmes," he said.

Prof. Adei was speaking at the first matriculation of the College during which two batches of students took the pledge to abide by the statutes, rules and regulations of the College and also to be of good behaviour.

Besides the programme for the HND students, he said, there are also plans to work out a programme that would allow Polytechnic Teachers with first degrees in the College's areas of competence to do Masters degrees during vacation periods.

Prof Adei asked the students to be of good behaviour and study seriously to raise the image of the school.

They should also save the college from embarrassment of cheating at examinations and adhere strongly to decent dressing codes. He assured the students of the commitment of members of faculty to discharge their mandate to provide first class quality undergraduate programmes that equip participants to be highly productive workers and intellectuals for the world of work and managerial leadership. The College was established by GIMPA Law 2004 Act 676 to offer undergraduate programme that responded to current demands of the country.
