GJA opens entries for maiden media awards in Central Region

The Central Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), has opened entries for its maiden media awards from Tuesday, June 4 to Friday, July 5, 2019.

The event launched barley a month ago is scheduled on Friday August 30, 2019.

Entries for the competition is open to all media practitioners (print, electronic and online) working in the Region and will cover works published or broadcast from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.

The awards are categorised into three areas namely: category one comprising of news reporting and features for print and electronic.

Category two: will comprise stories on environment and sanitation, health, tourism and culture, education, agriculture, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs), Fisheries and crime and Courts while category three is for community development media organisation (radio).

As part of efforts to promote transparency, all members of the regional executive committee and the awards committee are not eligible to contest.

The GJA entreats all qualified Journalists to partake in the competition to help build a vibrant media to spur the needed development across the Region.
