GLOBAL COALITION FOR AFRICA MEETS

The third plenary session of the Global Coalition for Africa (GCA) opens in Accra today About 100 participants are expected for the three-day meetingd which is a preratory one for its Advisory Commitee meeting in the Nertherlands next November. Dr Boubakar Diaby-Oquattara Executive Secretary of GCA announced these at a press briefing in Accra yesterday GCA is North-South forum dedicated to forging policy consensus on development priorities among Africa governments and the donor community The meeting will discuss reports by the GCA's sub-committee on governance and democracy democracy, co-chaires by President Quett MAsire of Botswana and Nicephore Soglo of Benin.. Other sub-commitees are on regional co-operatio and intergration chaired by President Soglo of Benin and economic reform policies, chaired by Dr Kwesi Botchwey, MInieterof Finance.
