GPRTU boss advised against women at vehicles' front seat

Apam (C/R), July 6, GNA - The National Chairman of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Alhaji Yaw Manu, has advised against women sitting at the front of passenger vehicles, saying they panic at the least mishap.

He said when they sat at the front and panicked they would not be in the position to offer any assistance to the driver in case of any eventuality.

Alhaji Manu made the observation during the election of Apam branch of GPRTU executives at Apam recently.

He appealed to drivers to show their love for fellow drivers by supporting each other at all times.

Alhaji Manu, who was in Apam also to resolve misunderstanding between the District Chief Executive for Gomoa West, Mr Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah and the Central Regional Chairman of the GPRTU, Mr Kwame Kumah, advised drivers to help to reduce the carnage on our roads.

Mr Samuel Bibrine Arthur, Central Regional Vice Chairman urged drivers to bear in mind that they played an important role in the life of the citizenry and advised them to be cautious in the discharge of their duties.

Mr John Coffie retained the position of branch Chairman; Mr Kenneth Amissah and Mr Richard Tawiah Badoo also retained their positions as Vice Chairman and second trustee respectively whilst Mr Moses Andzie Quainoo was elected first trustee to replace Mr Kweku Quaquah.

Mr Attah Boison also retained his position as Secretary. Mr Coffie thanked members of the union and assured them of an open administration.
