GSA expands facilities to increase enrolment

Kumasi, April 3, GNA - The Global School of Aviation (GSA) in Kumasi is expanding its facilities to increase enrolment and provide quality tuition to its students.

The school is also planning to establish a senior secondary school to serve as its intake source and provide opportunities to many youth to acquire secondary education and expertise in the aviation industry. Nana Osei Bonsu Bempah II, proprietor of the school announced these at the Fifth Matriculation of the school in Kumasi on Monday. Ninety students including 55 females and 35 males were admitted to pursue courses in tourism, hotel, shipping, travel agency management as well as air ticketing and reservation. Nana Bempah said the school, which was established in 2002, had trained about 450 students, most of who were currently in gainful employment.

He said plans were far advanced to sign an affiliation agreement with Cambridge International College in the UK and South Africa to enable the students receive both local and international diploma recognition, while the management were seriously working around the clock to get the school accredited by the National Accreditation Board. Nana Bempah said he had established a poultry farm to support the financial position of the school.

Nana Owusu Afriyie, Kentinkronohene, advised the students to be law abiding and study hard to achieve their objectives. Nana Osei Tutu Amankwaa, Asakrakahene, who chaired the function, urged the students to be discipline and co-operate with their teachers to ensure that they attained quality training at the school.
