GSA to test 21 bags of suspected cocaine worth $50m

The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) will on January 7 test the chemistry of 21 bags of substances suspected to be cocaine worth 50 million Dollars.

Four Brazilians and a Ghanaian were arrested a month ago at Takoradi in the Western Region with the narcotic substance.

They have pleaded guilty to all the charges against them.

The court, presided over by Justice C.J. Hoenyenugah Friday adjourned the matter to January 7 next year to allow the Ghana Standards Authority run lab tests on the substance.

The accused persons were on board the “ATIYAH, George-Town” vessel when they were arrested by the Sekondi Naval Command.

They are Mila Ronald, captain of the ship, Perceval Curt, Samuel Mornty, Saint Praimchad with their Ghanaian counterpart, Seth Grant.
