Asantehene will not do that
Accra, Oct 26, Daily Guide -- The National Democratic Congress (NDC) fiery advocate, apologist and sometimes loose canon, Dr. Tony Aidoo, has released a deadly salvo against the chiefs of Ga Mashie and the Volta Region, describing them as puppets and lackeys who will do anything for crumbs thrown at them.

Speaking on a weekly talking show programme on Radio Gold an Accra FM station, ?Alhaji and Alhaji? last Saturday, October 23, Dr. Aidoo accused Ga and Ewe chiefs of collecting ?30 million to troop to the Castle, Osu, to pledge their support to President Kufuor. This, he said, ?the self-respecting Asantehene will not do, even, for ?100 million.?

Spitting venom and vituperations at the Ga and Ewe chiefs, Dr. Aidoo lashed at them for cheapening themselves, and referred to them as sycophants and a disgrace to chieftaincy. The insult to the chiefs was the concluding part of Dr Aidoo?s submissions on his claims about the tribal nature of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Administration.

On the same programme, Dr. Aidoo, whose current agenda seems to be a tribal campaign was, however, countered by Mr Kwesi Pratt Jnr, Managing Editor of The Insight and Mr Tsatsu Tsikata, former Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) boss. The two panelists expressed their displeasure with the sentiments of Dr. Aidoo, and pointed out the dangers involved in such tribal and ethnic politics, which they contended; tend to becloud the real issues.
