Ga-West communities build Police Station

Kokrobite (G/A), June 4, GNA - Kokrobite, Tuba and Langba, three communities in the Ga-West District of the Greater Accra Region have pooled their resources to build a Police Station at Kokrobite to provide security for the people and to curb the crime rate in the area. The 200 million cedi wholly wall-fenced facility provides for a Charge Office, offices and toilet for the police personnel and an office for the Station Officer. It also provides two fortified, modern cells with built-in water closet toilets and bathrooms for both males and females to be detained.

Nii Ade Ansah II, Gyasetse of Kokrobite, who conducted the Ghana News Agency (GNA) round the about 95 percent completed work said the chiefs of the three communities mobilized funds towards the project. He said the project was undertaken on the recommendations and specifications of the Police Administration and that the cells were designed to provide security and healthy environment for the inmates. The Gyasekye commended Nii Ade Nkpah VII, chief of Kokrobite, Chief Ali Agbona, chief of Tuba, Paul Baako, chief of Langba and Moses Asase Ayittey, Chief Fisherman of Kokrobite for their contributions towards the project.


Alhaji Ben Huseini Agbo, Gyasetse of Tuba told the GNA that besides providing security for the citizens, the presence of police personnel would also enhance tourism in the area as it would prevent thugs from harassing innocent tourists.

He appealed to the Police Administration to provide materials to paint the facility in "police colours" to facilitate its early opening.
