Gabby Adu Gyamfi foundation donates to Tema General Hospital’s NICU ward

Gabby Adu Gyamfi foundation, an NGO committed to saving the lives of premature babies, especially those with critical medical conditions in Ghana has donated food items, baby diapers, and others materials worth GHC20,930.40 to the children’s department [NICU] of the Tema General Hospital.

Mr. Gabby Adu Gyamfi, Chief Executive Officer of the organization at the donation on Wednesday, said the gesture was their contribution towards the provision of quality health care, saving the lives of babies also to put some smiles on the faces of the parents and nurses at the hospital.

Recounting his experience at NICU department, the former road safety ambassador indicated that “God has been so good to me and my family because all hope was lost My daughter [ Monalisa Adu Gyamfi ] was diagnosed with Hemangioma of the anterior neck, things were really difficult, the doctors did their best yet Monalisa needed a special surgery which could only be carried out at abroad and am grateful for the support we received from Ghanaians and other diasporans”.

“I am happy to say that Monalisa is in great condition now and am glad to also launch the Monalisa Adu Gyamfi Foundation today to reduce child death and also help raise funds for parents whose children need special surgery or to be flown to abroad for treatment”.

Mr. Gyamfi called on corporate institutions and individuals to pay regular visits to the hospital to learn more about their challenges to be able to provide the needed assistance, and also to donate to the NICU unit to enable them to save more lives.

Dr. Enam Akoto Amaniampong, a Doctor at the Tema General hospital’s NICU department, who received the donation, expressed gratitude towards the Foundation and also solicited for support.

“We need more incubators and monitors to help us save the lives of babies, we are also appealing to the Gabby Adu Gyamfi Foundation and other corporate bodies to help us expand our hostel facilities for parents to enable spend much time over here to assist us to take care of their kids as they are on admission here, because every case at NICU needs a special attention”.
