Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a leading figure of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has congratulated businessman Ibrahim Mahama for winning the African Industrialist of the year award at the 8th edition of the African Achievers Awards (AAA) in London.
The event which took place at the House of Commons in London on Thursday and hosted by Rt. Diane Abbott, Shadow Home Secretary, celebrated the young Ghanaian businessman and Industrialist for his hard work and outstanding entrepreneurship achievements in Africa.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Gabby Otchere-Darko congratulated Ibrahim Mahama, adding that “Ghanaian entrepreneurs whose efforts are acknowledged internationally must be doing something right.”
After receiving the award, Ibrahim Mahama dedicated the award to the memory of his late father E.A. Mahama, and mother Joyce Tamakloe. Also, he dedicated the award to the hardworking management and staff of Engineers and Planners, whose untiring efforts he said has elevated the company to its current stage.

The quintessential businessman expressed the belief that receiving the award, would spur other young Africans to aspire to establish their own businesses and take advantage of the opportunities Africa has to offer.
