Enthusiastic crowds yesterday nearly turned the Mallam Atta, Nima and Mamobi market centers into rally grounds when news of the impromptu visit of His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills spread like wild fire within the markets and their environs.

The President, as part of his better Ghana agenda visited the various markets to see for himself what needs to be done to make life comfortable for the traders.

The market women, in joyful mood welcomed the President amidst singing, dancing and praises for what he has achieved for the good people of Ghana in his first term.

According to the Market women, the President has proven beyond doubt that he is a father for all with his pro-poor interventions to improve the socio-economic condition of the people through equitable distribution of the nation’s wealth.

Market women at the various market centers pledged their support to President Mills and assured him of their votes during the 2012 general elections to continue with his prudent economic programmes to arrest the country’s infrastructure deficit.

“We are going to vote massively to retain him in power so that he can continue the good things that he is doing for the people of Ghana.”

The President assured that the NDC Government is there for the people of Ghana and that the administration would do exactly what Ghanaians require, indicating that his government has come to serve and not to be served.

He tasked the Accra Mayor to attend to whatever problems the various market centers are facing.

At Nima, the president personally bought 4 balls of his favourite food, Kenkey at 0.50 pesewas each.
