Winneba (C/R), July 3, GNA - The Senior Bishop's Deputy of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, the Right Reverend Dr Godfred Zormelo, on Friday charged Ghanaians to concentrate more on the development of the country instead of partisan politics.
He said the over concentration of the people on political issues was not the answer to the socio-economic and ethnic problems facing the nation.
Rt. Rev. Dr Zormelo was commenting on the country's Achievements after 45 years as a Republic in an interview with the Ghana News Agency. He called on political leaders and their supporters to eschew arguments, which were detrimental to the country's political, social and economic aspirations.
Rt. Rev. Dr Zormelo urged Ghanaians irrespective of political, traditional and religious affiliation to team up to find a lasting solution to the problem of corruption and other problems confronting the country and said posterity would blame the present generation if it failed to bequeath the right legacy.
He called on the citizens to help the law enforcing agencies to combat crime by volunteering information, which could lead to the arrest and prosecution of criminals.
The Senior Bishop's Deputy stressed the need for Ghanaians to eschew laziness and to commit themselves to issues that would propel the nation's socio-economic advancement.
