Ghana Amb. to CIV presents Letter of Credence to Ouattara

His Excellency Lieutenant General Peter Augustine Blay(Rtd), Ghana’s Ambassador to Cote d’Ivoire presented his Letters of Credence to H. E. Mr. Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire at a colourful ceremony on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the presidential palace in Abidjan.

The Ambassador was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Edna Blay, Mr. Bons A. Abambora, Minister, Commodore Isaac Osei- Kuffuor, Defence Advisor and Ms. Divina A. Seanedzu, Minister Counsellor.

Ambassador Lt. General Blay (Rtd) conveyed the warm and fraternal greetings of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama to his Ivorian counterpart, H.E. President Ouattara and recalled the cordial and longstanding relations between Ghana and Cote d’ Ivoire which culminated in the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1960.

He further acknowledged the assiduous efforts by President Ouatarra towards the restoration of peace and reconciliation as well as the pursuit of sound socio-economic development policies aimed at improving the well-being of the Ivorian people.

Ambassador Blay assured President Ouattara that he will use his tour of duty to collaborate with the relevant host authorities on initiatives geared towards the enhancement of commercial and investment activities, promotion of educational and linguistic exchanges between the two countries.

On his part, H.E. President Ouattara congratulated him on his appointment and expressed admiration for the existing cordial relations between the two countries and underscored his personal friendship with President Mahama.

H.E. President Ouattara expressed the hope that the bilateral relations between our two nations would thrive and be further strengthened to the mutual benefit of the peoples of both countries.

The ceremony was crowned with a reception organized at the Residency for a cross-section of Ghanaians and friends of the Embassy in Abidjan.
