Mampong-Akuepem, Ghana (PANA) - Ghana's deputy health minister, Dr Moses Adibo, has commissioned machines for the production of herbal capsules at the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine in Mampong-Akuapem, Eastern Region.

The machines, a doubled cone blender with facilities for sieving and grading, cost 5,000 pounds sterling. They were manufactured by an Indian Company under the Commonwealth Secretariat Technical Assistance Programme.

They would be used to produce "kenken" herbal capsules for abdominal and menstrual pains in addition to other herbal capsules for other ailments.

Speaking after commissioning the machines, Adibo commended the Commonwealth Secretariat for its assistance which enabled the centre to produce capsules from herbs.
