The Ghana Health Service (GHS) is warning people who were affected by the recent floods to be mindful of pneumonia.
The Service says known illnesses in such situations are cholera and malaria but pneumonia can also be another disease that could break out.
The Director-General of the GHS, Dr. Ebenezer Appiah-Denkyira made the observations on Atinka AM Drive hosted by Kwame Adinkra on Monday.
He explained that, so many people, including children had no clothes on when they were salvaging their properties in the flood, exposing their chest and other parts of the body to the weather and warned that the situation provides a fertile ground for pneumonia.
The doctor urged survivors of the disaster to wait for their properties to dry before they touch or relocate them.
Dr. Appiah-Denkyira also suggested that most of products produced in Ghana that use plastic can be changed to rubber since rubbers are degradable.
