He said Section 104 and 106 of the Local Government Act 462 (1993) state that ''where a rate payer defaults in payment 10 days after the due date, the Assembly is to paste a poster at a very conspicuous place as a final demand notice.'' ''This is to allow for 42 days within which the rate payer is supposed to settle the amount.'' He said if the amount is not paid after 42 days, the Assembly can apply to the court for the sale of the property to retrieve the amount.
