Workers of Ghana Telecom are agitating for an upward adjustment in their salaries. The workers converged at the compound of the compound of their company’s headquarters in Accra demanding a briefing with their union leaders over their collective bargaining agreement. The workers want to be updated on negotiations with management and government on the matter.
Among others, the workers complained about administrative bottlenecks, which have delayed the salary adjustments effected in January this year. Sources told JOY FM that the workers’ union leaders have been meeting government officials including the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Kojo Mpianim in its efforts to resolve the issue.
Minister for Communications and technology, Felix Owusu Agyepong has also invited the leaders to a meeting. The workers are awaiting their leaders to brief them on the outcome based on which they will decide on their next step.
