Ho, July 19, GNA - The Loss Control Department of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) in Ho is waging war on individuals and companies who connect water illegally to their premises.

Consequently, the Department’s periodic checks in homes, chop bars and restaurants, companies and institutions have become visible in the communities within the past few weeks.

Recently, the Department led by Mr George Reagan Adanu caused the arrest of some individuals and owners of companies including an octogenarian for connecting water illegally.

Mr Adanu said the initiative had become necessary to control loss in the system.

“Ho is fast expanding and if we don’t check these things, we cannot control loss and improve on our service to the populace,” he said.

A food joint operator who allegedly connected water illegally was arrested last week.

Mr Adanu said his outfit had placed informants in every community who were helping the Department to operate effectively.

“We have several intelligence reports and very soon big, big companies and popular individuals who have connected water illegally will be exposed,” he told the GNA after the arrest of the food joint operator.

Mr Adanu said the activities of people who connect water illegally were inhibiting quality service delivery and called for support from all.
