Kyebi (E/R), Sept. 5, GNA - The former Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Conference, the Most Rev. Asante Antwi has observed that Ghana could be developed through serious evangelism and healing. " All of us are physically and mentally sick and the fellow, who could cure us is Jesus Christ," he observed.
The Most Rev. Asante Antwi was preaching the sermon at a thanksgiving service for Mr Frederick Guggisberg Yaw Ofori-Atta Asante, Member of Council of State, representing the Eastern Region at Kyebi Emmanuel Presbyterian Church on Sunday.
He said the country needed healing, because many people had been wronged and yet those, who committed the offences, were failing to appreciate that they had hurt others, let alone say they were sorry for the wrongs that they did.
Most Rev. Asante Antwi said Ghanaians needed to develop the ability to say, "I am Sorry".
He called for the necessary investments to be put in place at the Kyebi area with the diversion of the main Accra-Kumasi highway from the town, so that the town would not turn into a ghost town. Mr Ofori-Atta Asante explained that, he was thanking God for the various blessing that he had received from him throughout his life. He said there was a time when he was about to be shot but God changed the mind of his attacker and instead, the fellow picked an empty bottle beside him and broke his head with the bottle.
Mr Ofori-Atta Asante and the family used the occasion to donate ten million cedis and raised over 50 million cedis for the completion of the Kyebi Emmanuel Presbyterian Church building.
Among the dignitaries that attended the function were the chairman of the Council of State, Professor Adjei Bekoe, Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Yaw Barimah, the First Vice-Chariman of New patriotic Party, Mr Stephen Ntim and Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin.
