Founding member of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has lamented that across the various facets of the Ghanaian society, exemplary and visionary leadership is non-existent.

According to the outspoken politician, though the buck stops with the president, Ministers, CEOs and other persons entrusted with leadership roles must also take blame for the happenings in the country.

“We have a leadership crisis and it cuts across the whole nation. We shouldn’t think the President is the only leader in the country”.

“Any country where we have a leader is a leader and if the person is not coming with a good result, the whole nation suffers though I agree the buck stops with the president,” he said on GHOne.

He also decried the failure of successive leaders to emulate the visionary and ingenious leadership of Ghana’s first president, Kwame Nkrumah.

Nyaho-Tamakkloe who is a disciple of the Dombo-Danquah-Busia tradition said that the country’s slow-paced development should be blamed on selfish and myopic leadership that the country has witnessed since Nkrumah's government was toppled.

“Kwame Nkrumah came with a lot of hope but look at how he was let down. I’m not a CPP man but I have always said that apart from Kwame Nkrumah, we have never had any leader who has a vision. If we talk about a leader with vision, no one comes close to Nkrumah”.
