Celebrated media and brands Icon, Kwasi Kyei Darkwa known popularly as KKD has said Ghana has vast natural resources, however, what the country lacks is the mental resources.

What’s worrying him is the fact that there is a lack of mental resources, especially those with the authority to lead the country.

“I see a Ghana of vast natural resources but very limited mental resources in those who are entrusted with authority and with those who are clothed with power to lead,” he said in an interview on Joy News.

KKD believes that with what is currently happening, although Ghana has creative and smart people, its budding youth will be labourers in Western countries because opportunities are not created for them.

“When I look at Ghana today I see a lot of talented youth who other countries will use to do the work of labourers,” he said.

To KKD, Ghana currently does not have leaders because what’s happening is that “each one for himself, God for us all. My chef bought a tuber of yam for GhC 60, I listened to Benard Avle this morning and he said he bought his for Ghc 70. I travel and work abroad and get paid in foreign currency. However, it does not mean I want the foreign currency to be so high in value that the cedi is nearly worthless.

...I’ve come home and I’ve seen the foreign currency go from 14 something to 15 something and now close to 16 and I’m thinking, some of us are fortunate to go and work elsewhere and come home. What about the majority of people, who may even work harder than us? Who may be smarter than the people we have elected to lead?” he quizzed.
