“If I feel safe because I have a security man in my house, that does not mean my grandmother in the village is safe”, were the exact words of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential hopeful, Professor Joshua Alabi in a recent interview.

He bemoaned the state of insecurity in the country reinforcing the point that the country is not safe in the wake of recent increasing cases of armed robberies.

“I am going to make Ghana a peaceful country where people will have confidence”, he said but when asked by Ghanaweb’s Kyenkyenhene Boateng if the country is currently not peaceful he responded “How can it be peaceful when policemen are being killed”

Professor Alabi stated that he is poised to make Ghana a progressive peaceful country expressing worry at the heightened insecurity which has resulted in the gunning down of police personnel indiscriminately.

“I am going to make Ghana a peaceful country, we are not very peaceful now. I am going to make Ghana a progressive country and a Swiss of Africa and by the Swiss of Africa, I am going to attract investments into the country by making Ghana the money hub in Africa. Let’s find a unifier who can bring this country together and let us move it together”, he reiterated.

The retired lecturer prided himself as the only person capable of restoring confidence in the Ghanaian and facilitating a serene environment for businesses to flourish as well as unite the country priding himself as the one

According to him, he is not the leader of the NDC but said he has what it takes to unite the party and change its fortunes which is why he wants to lead it in 2020.

“I want to lead my party to unify the party. I am not the leader of the party, my influence will not be like if I am the leader”, he posited.
