Janet Nablah, Chair and Leader of the People's National Party (PNP) has emphasized the need for Ghanaians to demand more from their politicians.

She stated that Ghana should ultimately move beyond the unsavory politics of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to her, these two political parties represent not the interests of the voters but their own selfish ambitions.

Referring to the recent decision by the Minister for Trade and Industry to regulate cement prices and the opposition from the Minority, she remarked that this is preposterous and an affront to the populace.

She contended that the Ministry's action was commendable and should have been applied to other commodities as well.

She maintained that the Ghana Union of Traders should not monopolize price determination, as they are exploiting the current economic crisis to sell their commodities at exorbitant prices.

Speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, she declared that such politics cannot aid the country's development as it fosters corruption, greed, and selfishness.

"Ghana must rise above the dirty politics of the NDC and the NPP. We must reach a point where Ghanaians will demand better leadership from our politicians.

"Ghanaians are exhausted, and they deserve improved living conditions. Ghana is meant to function effectively, and for that to happen, we must eradicate greed from our body politic.

"If it weren't for greed, an MP would not accept money from a businessman solely focused on profit-making, who then sells goods at inflated prices, rather than representing the interests of the constituents who elected them."
