Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the presiding Archbishop of Action Chapel International, has emphasized the importance of stakeholders ensuring honesty and fairness in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

The esteemed man of God believes that anything less could have catastrophic consequences for the nation.

He asserted that economic hardship has driven many citizens, including nurses and doctors, to migrate in search of better opportunities.

His remarks were made during a meeting with John Dramani Mahama and the Christian Ecumenical Council in Accra on Monday.

"There is too much pain and suffering in this country. All our doctors and nurses are leaving," he stated.

"We just pray that things will be well-handled and managed with transparency and fairness so that we will not end up being refugees in another country.

"Without proper fairness, honesty, and transparency, things may spiral out of control," he said.

Furthermore, he has warned political parties not to underestimate the resolve of Ghanaians during this election year.

He opined that if matters were not properly managed and political parties acted solely in their own interests, such actions would not be tolerated by Ghanaians.

"Nobody should think that Ghanaians are very gentle and dislike trouble. That's not true, because I witnessed what happened in '79 and '81, and those involved were Ghanaians.

"The violence, murders, and unrest in parts of the country, like what's happening in Bawku and other places, are all perpetrated by Ghanaians," he cautioned.
