Accra - Preparations are far ahead for the 'Ghana's Most Talented Teen 2000' Scholarship Competition, which takes place at the National Theatre on Friday 23 June, gates opening at 4 p.m.

It will be a spectacular youth variety entertainment event featuring a great hit squad of Hip-Life artists including Slip Music's Lord Kenya and Nana Quame, NFL, Keteke and Chico Dawuni of Kay's Frequency, Sass Squad and 2 Deep.

The ten finalists will themselves be performing a variety of talents ranging from dramatics to rapping and contemporary dance. They are currently undergoing the final stages of their grooming and personal development programme, which started about a month ago.

"Each day, the girls demonstrate such a winning attitude that it's become difficult to point to any one with a more interesting act. We are finding new gems in every one of them, and it is exhilarating," beams Kwaku Boafoh Agyeman, Director of A4 Productons, organisers of the event. "The competition will be very keenly contested, that's for sure," he adds.

The winner of the Ghana finals will travel to New York City to represent Ghana at the 30th Hal Jackson Talented Teens International scholarship contest, which takes place at the world famous Apollo Theatre on July 29, where she stands a chance to win a $5000 educational scholarship.

The primary objective of the 'Ghana's Most Talented Teen' scholarship competition is to unearth talented young girls, offering them educational and personal development opportunities, and is open to 13 to 17 year old school going girls. This year's competition is under the theme, "That's Me, Tomorrow", and will give the young ladies an opportunity to express themselves about their future ambitions.

'Ghana's Most Talented Teen 2000' is being promoted in collaboration with Joy FM, Vibe FM and GTV, with support from Databank, F.A.&T., Internet Ghana, the Unimax/Macmillan Good English Campaign, Collectibles and Kay's Frequency.
