Alongside giants like Norway, arrangements put in place by the Government and People of Ghana, for the management of Oil and Gas Revenues has received international commendation at a public discussion event on Sovereign Wealth Funds organised by Chatham house (The Royal Institute of International Affairs) in London.
Speaking at the forum Deputy Minister Of Finance, Mrs Mona Quartey outlined the comprehensive systems and procedures, including the checks and oversight management of Ghana's Sovereign Wealth Funds, made up of the Heritage, Stability and Infrastructure &!investment funds, which was acknowledged as comparable to Norway's, the best managed in the world. Speaker after speaker had very complimentary words for Ghana's efforts. The Deputy Minister was accompanied by High Commissioner Victor Smith and Dr Asenso of the Finance Ministry.
The well attended event brought together experts from both the business world and the academia from across the globe including the World Bank to look at the demand, development and delivery of Soverign Wealth Fubds in Africa. c
