Ghana's accreditation Board commended

Accra, Sept. 28, GNA - Dr Adrea Luxton, Executive Secretary of Adventist Accreditation Association on Tuesday commended the Ghana Education Service (GES) for being on top of accreditation of the Universities.

She said that had enabled the Valley View University, a private university established about five years ago to be able to win the highest point together with that of one in Kenya out of the 99 universities the Adventist Church has all over the world.

Dr Luxton, who was in the country to witness the graduation ceremony of 157 students of the Valley View University and to assess the performance of the institute and its facilities was speaking to journalists in a pre-departure interview in Accra. She said, in some countries accreditation rules were not enforced and that the church found the efforts of Ghana in that direction "as very positive".

The Church with its universities in the World has developed a network system to share different ideas in enforcing standards that would not be compromised on demand for more admission students when there were no qualified lecturers and structures to keep up with expansion.

Dr Luxton said with that in built network system the church was able examine, evaluate and access the universities in such a way that standards were maintained and expanded as the institution grew. The Reverend Joe Aaron Hagan, Communication, Public Affairs and Religious Liberty of the Church said the Valley View University would not do anything that would lower the accreditation and the reputation the university had attained.
