Ghana’s economy crisis is punishment for disobedience - Clergy

Mr. Justice V.C.R.A.C Crabbe, a former Supreme Court Judge, has appealed to Christians to accept spiritual development and its morals as the supreme law of God.

He said any population which lacked moral discipline and was intellectually infantile would naturally fall.

Mr. Justice Crabbe said this in Accra at the last session of the 21st synod of the Anglican Diocese of Accra themed: “Pressing on Towards the Goal.”

He said there was a time when spiritual awakenings could be thought of as desirable, but not necessarily indispensable. Adding that the times had come for Christians to change that attitude.

Mr. Justice Crabbe said the basic laws of nature were the basic laws of this earth since God is the first in both realms.

He said most people considered life as a battle, but life is a game in which success could only be achieved with the knowledge of the spiritual law which the Bible has clarified.

The Rt. Rev. Dr. Daniel Sylvanus Mensah Torto, the Bishop of Accra Diocese, said the three-day conference was to discuss with the bishops, priests, laity and committees about the church's achievements and failures in the past year and plan for the way forward.

He said the country is facing economic challenges because the nation had lost track. And the glory that God gave nations had been eroded.

“The nation is in crisis because we do not do things according to the word of God,” the Bishop said and appealed to Christians to press on toward the goal of truth and seek inner success beyond external things.

He said the true success and failure of any human being did not depend on the wealth accumulated or the house he builds but to press on towards the goal found in Jesus Christ.
