The Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has described Ghana’s youth as the country’s most valuable asset, arguing that sustainable national development depends more on people than on natural resources.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, January 4, 2026, Dr Adutwum said Ghana’s progress must be driven by disciplined, skilled and hopeful young people, rather than an overreliance on commodities such as gold and oil.

“Ghana’s greatest resource is not gold or oil; it is you,” he stated.

He stressed that empowering the youth has a direct impact on national progress, noting that a country rises or falls depending on the quality of its human capital.

“When the youth rise with discipline, skills, and hope, the nation rises with them,” he added.

Dr Adutwum also encouraged young Ghanaians not to allow their backgrounds to define or limit their future, urging them to remain focused and prepared for opportunities ahead.
