Eleven-year-old Sanitation ambassador and Queen of Sanitation Ed Hillary-Leward has described Ghana’s sanitation problem as attitudinal and called on Ghanaians to ensure a clean environment.

Ms Hillary-Leward was endorsed as Sanitation Queen by the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources following her numerous sanitation projects across the nation.

Speaking on the Executive Breakfast Show (EBS) on Class91.3FM on Wednesday, 8 January 2020, Ms Hillary-Leward who has been working with a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), African Youth and Children Achievers, on sanitation related issues noted that it is difficult to keep the environment clean as a nation due to the attitude of Ghanaians.

“Please to put it right, it is simply our attitude and that is why I always trumpet and advocate everywhere I get the opportunity in order to keep our nation Ghana clean and please to be frank with you, we should change our attitude towards filth,” she told show host Benjamin Akakpo.

The Sanitation Queen also called on Ghanaians to ensure a clean environment saying “They should keep their environment clean and dump their rubbish into their dustbin”.

The Sanitation Queen has been frequenting schools, beaches and mosques among others preaching hygiene as part of her advocacy.
