Ghana will not recognise independence of Kosovo

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic said today in Abuja, after the talks with Deputy Foreign Minister of Ghana Chris Kpodo, that this country will remain faithful to its position not to recognise the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo-Metohija.

Jeremic, who is on one-week visit to Africa, said in a statement to FoNet news agency that Kpodo expressed desire to renew economic cooperation with Serbia, especially in the field of construction industry, which left a significant trace in Ghana.

The Minister announced that he will travel to Ghana in January in order to prepare the visit of Serbian President Boris Tadic to that country.

Tadic received an invitation to visit Ghana on March 6, which is the anniversary of the country’s independence and also the date of celebration of the 100th anniversary of birth of the first prime minister of modern Ghana and later head of state Kwame Nkrumah.
