Berekum Chelsea influential striker Sadick Adams is the latest to join the tall list of players and officials who have complained about the nature of balls used in the Ghana Premier League, appealing to the GFA to take a second look at the balls.
Asante Kotoko head coach David Duncan had complained about the type of Mitre Balls used in our league calling on the FA to go for quality ones but was lampooned by a section of the media.
Black Stars goalie Fatau Dauda and Dreams FC captain Abdul Bashiru have all complained about the balls and Sadick thinks the FA must quickly come to the rescue of the players.
“When we played against Techiman City in the opening league game, I complained about the Mitre balls we used for the game, but nobody listened to me.
“Both Bashiru and Fatau Dauda have all complained about the balls, but nobody is listening.
“I was sad when people were lambasting Coach Duncan for complaining about the balls. He was right. The balls we use in the league are of low quality,” Sadick told GHANAsoccernet.com in an exclusive interview.
“They are light and can even get a player injured if you hit them hard.”
The Local Black Stars captain then appealed to the Ghana FA and the Premier League Board to take a second look at the balls since they [the players] are the principal actors of the game.
“I am appealing to the Ghana FA to come to our aid and get us better balls. When we played the G6 Tournament, the balls were better than the ones we are using now.
“They should get us better balls to help us develop our game,” he added.
