GhanaWeb Polls: 55% call for another lockdown to curb coronavirus spread

Results from a poll conducted by GhanaWeb on whether the government should impose another lockdown in the country indicate that many Ghanaians will be in favour of another lockdown to ease the spread of COVID-19.

The poll which commenced on the 20th of May 2020 had 381people, representing 55.14% of respondents calling for another lockdown as they believe it will help in the country's fight against the virus.

"Right now we have to lock down the whole country at least minimum 15 days with strict lockdown..." one respondent noted.

Meanwhile, 40.96% of participants which is made up of 283 voted against the idea of any further restrictions.

In the heat of this discussion, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Sunday, May 24, 2020, indicated that plans are underway to further ease the coronavirus restrictions adding that, “we have to find a way back, but in safety, for we cannot be under these restrictions forever.”
