GhanaWeb has introduced yet another special feature for its readers and users amid the coronavirus pandemic. Everybody is involved with this website and this time, the focus has been put on religion which is suffering from the social distancing directive imposed by the government.
All religious bodies can now feature their programmes and services on GhanaWeb’s new section, GhanaWeb Religion, to help project them to their congregants and GhanaWeb's 4 million monthly visitors.
The world is fighting a battle, one that has crumbled global powers and great economies. Most countries have been shut down and people are advised to stay home unless necessary.
This prompted GhanaWeb's initiative which has already received positive feedback barely weeks after its creation. Dozens of churches and mosques are streaming their services currently on GhanaWeb Religion.
"Watching religious services live and recorded on GhanaWeb is a great idea because it welcomes traditional, modern, Christian, Muslim and inspirational presentations to uplift a nation,” said Amanda Clinton, a lawyer and user of the new platform.
“GhanaWeb's new online platform has the potential of being the new church since church means the gathering of the people, people gathering online from all faiths, and finding content that will uplift and inspire them in a time when doom and gloom dominate,” the former Ghana Football Association presidential hopeful added.
