A traveler from Ghana apparently heading to Piscataway was arrested at John. F. Kennedy International Airport for allegedly stuffing about 22 pounds of heroin in his suitcases, a report on MyCentralJersey.com said.

Charles Kwasi Kankam got off a flight from Casablanca, Morocco originating from the Ivory Coast on Saturday, according to the report. During a routine inspection of bags, a search dog responded to Kankam's suitcase, the report said.

Federal authorities found $700,000 worth of heroin in a giraffe-print suitcase and a gray suitcase. Kankam admitted to smuggling drugs and is being held without bail, the report said.
