Ghanaians working at the New York Presbyterian Hospital have formed a new association with the motto 'So Mu Bi' (Get Involved). The name of the association is ' Friends of New York Presbyterian Hospital"-( Ghanaian Community). It was formed about two years ago and currently has a membership of two hundred with their patrons being Dr. Anyane

Yeboah, Nara Kumah Adjekum - Endoscopy and Mrs. Mary Hackman of ADB.

The President of the association is Mr. Danso Abebrese ( ED), and Mr. Peter Assenso of Sterile Supply Dept. as Vice President. Mrs Ami Boating a charge nurse at 5 Central is the secretary assisted by Mr. Emil Djampim a surgical technician at L&D. Ms. Lydia Boateng- pharmacy Dept. is the Treasurer assisted by Ms. Agatha Obeng - Debrah of Xray Dept.

Mr. Agyenim Boateng of Pharmacy Dept. holds the position of PRO. whilst Mr. Edward Mensah of food service is the welfare officer and Mr. Daniel Opare also of pharmacy is the Porter. The Association had their New Year get together party at the Columbia University

Campus.

Speaking at the function, the president of the Association Mr. Danso Abebrese exhorted members to be good Ambassadors of their motherland Ghana and hold its high esteem.

"This will let the outside world know, that its not only the World Cup that Ghana excels but has people with rich culture and well nurtured to help their community. " Mr Danso noted. On their new found jobs, he asked them to act professionaly in whatever field they found themselves, to raise the morale of New York Presbyterian Hospital.

He said the Association plans to raise funds to buy some petty, petty equipment and donate to some community hospitals in Ghana and give Scholarship to the underprevildge children to enable them to have basic education.

The Association will have its formal inaguration in late Summer where a Cross Section of workers will be invited to show their support both in cash and kind.
