Members of the Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors of Ghana (ABCECG) are to benefit from free training in Morocco, as part of efforts to build their capacities.

This was made known by Mr Abdelhaq Laraichi, first Vice President of the African Federation for Construction Contractors Associations (AFCCA) at the closing ceremony of the Executive Bureau Meeting of AFCCA, in Accra.

He said the training programme facilitated by the Moroccan Embassy would enable its Ghanaian counterparts to learn some of the modern techniques in the construction industry.

He expressed the hope that the unity between the two countries would be strengthened further to enable the members to learn from each other in other sectors of the economy.

Mr Martin Nnuro, National President of ABCECG, commended their Moroccan counterparts for the opportunity, saying it would help build the capacities of its members.

He said the AFCCA meeting in Ghana, which was attended by contractors and government officials from 30 African countries to deliberate on ways to sanitise, develop, and standardize the building and the construction industry in the Sub-region was very successful.

Mr Nnuro said the Association would be strengthened to enable member countries to learn from each other, by sharing their experiences in their various countries.

Some of the issues discussed at the meeting included Communication, Financing of the Association and the enhancement of membership drive.
