Accra, Dec. 9, GNA - A French Foreign Elections Observer, Mr Etienne Manuard has described Ghana's way of voting as very rational and economical compared to the recent American elections and many others held the world over.

Mr Manuard, who is an Attache to the French Embassy, described the elections as free, fair and peaceful.

He said this in an interview when the Ghana News Agency chanced on him and his team of electoral observers at the Ablekuma North Constituency in Accra during last Tuesday's elections.

He said one of the major setbacks in the balloting exercise was the folding of the ballot papers before it was put into the ballot boxes. He said his team noticed that voters did not wipe off the ink from the thumb before they did the folding thereby unknowingly stamping on other candidates, which could lead to the rejection of the ballot paper during counting.
