The completion of the facility is expected to contribute to Ghana’s electricity generation from cleaner energy sources and support efforts to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
During the visit, Bedzrah commended the Bui Power Authority, First Sky Limited, Energy Minister John Jinapor and the Yendi Municipality for their respective roles in completing the project.
He also pledged the Committee’s support for tax incentives and relief on imported solar panels to encourage further investment in renewable energy.
The proposed tax relief is intended to reduce the cost of solar equipment and make it easier for businesses to invest in solar power projects across the country.
The Yendi project also highlights opportunities for Ghanaian engineers, contractors and other professionals to contribute to the country’s growing renewable energy industry.
