Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyepong has descended heavily on local entrepreneurs, describing them as “empty” individuals who “cannot get any work done”.
His comments follow the reaction of local entrepreneurs after parliament imported furnishings from China to decorate the lawmaking chamber.
The Ghanaian business community expressed anger in the decision by parliament to import the furnishing including chairs from China.
Speaking to the US-based Sahara TV, the outspoken MP said “ the Ghanaian entrepreneurs they are talking, talking, they are also empty, when you give them the job they don’t deliver."
“You need to be chasing them after giving them the job, they would have done the same thing, they would have brought inferior furniture there. It’s a disease in the country”.
He said Parliament was supplied with inferior goods from China because “whoever had the contract wanted to make more money out of it”.
