There is a deliberate attempt by a media cabal in Ghana to disgrace Omanhene of the Oguaa traditional area Osabarima Kwesi Atta II according to the Cape Coast Youth Development Association.

The youth condemned a recent publication on Daily Graphic Newspaper and its online portal with the caption, “Rowdy youth disrupts Fetu Afahye” revealing that the story did not only cast a slur on the image of the respected chief but the youth of the area in general.

While demanding an unqualified apology from Daily Graphic to the Oguaa Chief Osabarimba Kwesi II, Nananom as well as the youth of the area for peddling falsehood against them, they also refuted claims the youth attempted to destroy the launching of the Oguaa Fetu Afahye.

Mr. Kobina Spio Grabrah and Assembly Member of Ntsin Electoral Area of Cape Coast insists the event went on smoothly as planned calling the public to disregard media reports it was marred by violence.

He rather explained the genesis of the whole hiccup emanated from a situation that occurred during the launch of the programme where a stranger who was exhibiting some signs of mental challenges and seemed to be lost was offered help.

Those who offered to help to the said stranger were rather mistakenly viewed as kidnappers, arrested by the police, arraigned before court and were remanded in prison custody

In view of this, it was out of this shocking experience that the youth out of their youthful exuberance decided that since the grounds contained all those mattered and in their desire to seek clemency for their arrested colleagues were waiting for the king and his entourage at the entrance to put forward their concerns.

“How can the youth who are seeking clemency as a result of a prejudiced court ruling, disrupt an august occasion of such high impetus with ranting? Mr. Spio Grabrah questioned.

Mr. Spio Grabrah admitted that, the youth seemed to be livid thus calling for the attention of the Oguaa Omanhene who spoke publicly that they disperse and come to his palace at 2:30pm for the proper traditional hearing insisting the conduct of the youth though not violent was not related to the event whatsoever.
