Prof. Agyeman Badu Akosa has described the majority of Ghanaians as “gullible” and “pliable,” a situation he says makes Ghana easily governable.
“It is very easy to manage a country like Ghana because majority of the people are pliable; majority are gullible,” he said on Thursday.
“They are gullible. … That is why pastors are fleecing a lot of people these days,” Prof Akosa added.
He made the comment while discussing President John Mahama’s foibles in office for the past three years.
In his view, the President has not lived up to expectation and also not shown enough sense of urgency in tackling the country’s problems, especially the power crisis, which has been a problem for the past three years.
The former flagbearer-aspirant of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), however, said President Mahama could still make good of the situation because Ghanaians are not difficult people to deal with, once he comes clean with them.
He told Kasapa FM’s morning show host Fiifi Banson on Thursday that Mr Mahama stands a good chance of courting empathy from Ghanaians if he levelled with them and also presented to them, in a transparent manner, the issues confronting his government, rather than being dishonest and leaving them in the dark.
