Ghanaians are not satisfied with the NDC - NPP

Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea told Kwami Sefa-Kayi during Kokrokoo Morning show that, the NDC lost the Kunbungu by-election because Ghanaians are disappointed in them.

According to him, when one compares the results the NDC had in 2008 to that of 2013, it is an indication “Ghanaians are not happy with the current administration, and that is why they lost the seat and that is the only lesson in the Kumbungu election”.

“NDC had 18285 votes in 2008, this year it reduced 11896; this means they lost 6389 votes. Where did the votes go? Kumbungu is not a swinging constituency; it is a strong hold of the NDC since 1992; no party has taken it from them. It is judgement on the current government performance since January 2013,” he mentioned.

The Kumbungu seat is considered as one of the strong holds of the NDC, however, during the by-election, the NDC candidate lost to the Convention People Party’s candidate; Amadu Moses Yahaya.

Meanwhile, National Youth Organizer of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), Abu Ramadan, shares the same opinion. He insists the NDC needs to do a ‘soul searching’ assess what went wrong.

“The NDC should sit down as a party and as a government to make proper assessment because this is a signal that is not looking good for them. After winning an election; you will lose in a by-election within five months of taking office, then there is something for them to worry about,” he opined.
