Ghanaians in Dallas Fort Worth mourn with Auntie Hilda

Ghanaians in the Dallas Fort Worth of Texas (D.F.W)last week-end gathered at the Hope's Place Funeral Home for the final funeral rites of the late Madam Esi Takoa, Messrs. Kofi Osei Akondoh and Kweku Arhin.

The Ghanaian Community came in their numbers to show their unflinching love to Auntie Hilda Ansong and her bereaved family.

Among the personalities who were there to grace the occasion were The "Anointed Man", Pastor Samuel Aidoo, Head Pastor of Texas area Church of Pentecost and his able Presiding Elder Mr. Dan Danso as well as some opinion leaders of the Dallas Fort Worth community.

Mr. James Ofosu –Adarkwa who the read tributes on behalf of the bereaved family said Madam Esi Takoa ,a.k.a Maame Apaa was a founding member of the Church of Pentecost at Apam in the Central Region of Ghana , West Africa, and throughout her lifetime she supported the growth of Christianity. He said Maame Apaa was a loving mother and a disciplined woman who was loved by everyone who came into contact with her.

Concerning the late Kofi Osei Akondoh the tribute reads that he took on the great responsibilities of assisting his parents by taking care of his siblings and other family members. “Indeed Kofi dedicated much of his time, energy and resources to assist others throughout his life." Mr. Ofosu-Adarkwah noted.

As he got to the tribute of the late Kweku Arhin Mr. Ofosu–Adarkwah pointed out that Mr. Arhin was a skilled fisherman and a mechanic who took care of the outboard motors of the fishermen in Apam. Kweku Arhin's interest in the deep sea made him move to Togo where he became a seaman and by dint of hard work rose to the rank of Captain and captained several vessels along the coast of West and South Africa. Mr.Ofosu -Adarkwah noted that on Kweku’s vacation he would join hands with the fishermen in Apam to exhibit to them new techniques in fishing, keeping of nets and equipments.

Ms. Hilda Ansong expressed her family's profound appreciation to the Ghanaian Community in Dallas Fort Worth for their immense support in paying their last respect to their departed loved ones.

"Even though my mother and my brothers are gone forever, deep in the family's heart we know they are resting and rejoicing in heaven" Auntie Hilda said with tears on her dimples.
