The Ghanaian Association of Minnesota-GhanAM is making feverish preparations to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence from British colonial rule.
The event is scheduled for March 10 2007 at the John Murzyn Hall in Columbia Heights under the theme “The Ghanaian in Minnesota: Championing the excellence of Ghana”.
Speaking to this writer, Mr. Kwami Ahelegbe the newly elected interim president indicated that it is high time; we put our efforts together to see an improved Ghana for posterity. He said this celebration is not only for Ghana but for the whole of Africa because Kwame Nkrumah did not stand only for Ghana but for the whole of the African continent. He therefore extended invitation to other African countries to the event.
A number of Ghanaian businesses and individuals are sponsoring the event.
