The dean of the faculty of law, GIMPA, lawyer Kofi Abotsi has said that Ghanaians must discover themselves.
“There is something in us which has been lying dormant and there is the need to rediscover that,” the lawyer said.
According to the lawyer, there is something we do wrong all the time. Ghanaians must start to discover the right way of doing things; the right way of doing things is to change the Ghana we have now.
Lawyer Abotsi said, "corruption, bribery, thievery, indiscipline, substandardness which have characterised Ghana at the moment are not Ghanaian. But excellence, achievement, doing well and defining certain characteristic personality that distinguishes you from all others makes a true Ghanaian".
He emphasized that these characteristics are still in every Ghanaian and the expectation is that we will have leadership that will help in discovering them.
He finally said every Ghanaian should look within the next Ghanaian and see himself and let somehow hope that we can bring the better component of what we have within ourselves in each other by challenging each other to do the right thing.
“Our expectation and hope that the government will provide the leadership and energies Ghanaians to come along” he further added.
