Ghanaians urged to be patriotic to foster national growth

Cape Coast, March 13, GNA - The Cape Coast Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, on Sunday observed that Ghana could net the desired national growth through the concerted efforts of the citizenry to contribute their quota towards the drive.

Apostle Albert Amoah, therefore charged Ghanaians to endeavour to be patriotic to help move the country forward by carrying out their respective roles with zeal, selflessness and discipline to accelerate the wheels of development.

Apostle Amoah made the call in a sermon to climax the 54th independenc= e celebration, which was commemorated with a week-long prayers and thanksgiving service nationwide. The Central Regional Minister, Mrs Ama Benyiwa-Doe joined hundreds of people including chiefs, queens, ministers of state, heads of department, pastors, assembly members and regional executives of the National Democrati= c Congress at the central auditorium of the Adisadel Church of Pentecost in Cape Coast for the service.

Apostle Amoah reminded Christians that they have a stake in the development of the nation and urged them not to only pray and fast but also work hard to move the nation forward. "The prosperity of the nation is dependent on the collective efforts= of all. All must be time conscious, hard working, disciplined and dedicated in our quest to develop our nation."

Mrs Benyiwa-Doe thanked the people for the co-operation accorded her since her assumption of office and urged them to continue with the goodwill to enhance peace and development. She urged people who build structures haphazardly resulting in the eruption of slums to put a stop to it because the practice amounts to indiscipline. The Regional Minister reiterated the call for national unity, discipline and hard work to get the better Ghana agenda on course. 13 March 11
