Akatsi (Volta Region) 19, Sept. Mrs. Victoria Gidiglo, Akatsi District Chief Executive, has inaugurated a 15-member Akatsi District Committee on National Culture with a call on its members to place the development of culture on their priority list. Torgbui Ahortor III, Fiaga of Tatorme Traditional Area, is chairman of the committee. Mrs. Gidiglo advised the members to live up to expectation and become real ambassadors of the cultural revolution in the district. Mr. Ben Acolatse, the District Cultural Officer, told the members that they have to examine cultural practices in the district and formulate policies for implementation. He advised them to study Ghana's cultural policy to enable Akatsi's programme to fit into it. Torgbui Ahortor III thanked the Akatsi District Assembly for the confidence reposed in them and promised to work conscientiously to promote culture in the district. Torgbui Dorgle Anumah V,fiaga of Avenor Traditional Area who presided, called on the Akatsi District Assembly and the National Commission on Culture to establish entertainment centres in the district.
