Stephen Ntim and Justin Kodua Frimpong
Eugene Boakye Antwi, former Member of Parliament for Subin constituency, has called for the removal of the New Patriotic Party's General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, and the National Chairman, Stephen Ntim.
According to him, the former General Secretary, John Boadu, was sacked because of his performance in the previous election. Hence, these current executives are not fit to lead the party based on the outcome of the 2024 elections.
Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa TV on January 20, 2025, he added that the party executives are calling on him to take the General Secretary position, and he is ready to do so.
“John took it from 169 to 137, and we sacked him. We lost 32 seats in Parliament, so why would someone take it from 137 to 88, losing 49 seats, and we should keep them in their positions? We have to sack all of them.”
The NPP lost the 2024 general elections to the NDC.
The Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa, on Monday, December 9, declared John Mahama the winner, with a total of 6,328,397 votes.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP received 4,657,304 votes.
Mahama's party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), achieved historic success by gaining a majority in Parliament.
